PREVENTING CANINE HIP DYSPLASIA

Do you have a new puppy?  Did you know that hip dysplasia has been shown to have an environmental component (not just genetic)?  Do you know what to do to help prevent against canine hip dysplasia in your puppy?  That's where we can help!

Now, to give full disclosure, research does show that there is a hereditary component to hip dysplasia, but there isn't one gene that causes it.  As well, if all hip dysplasia was hereditary, why is it not more predictable and why does it not always affect both hips at the same time?  That's where the environment comes in, and the environment is something that YOU can control.  By environment, we mean not only the physical environment, but also the things that can be done to or with the dog physically to also help with normal hip development.
