Megan McLeod, BSA

Megan graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan. She majored in Animal Science and minored in Agribusiness. During her years at the university she assisted with canine, feline and tilapia nutrition projects. She was able to venture into the world of ‘large animal’ handling at the university’s dairy barn, poultry facility and veterinary college. In her final year she completed a meta-analysis for her thesis on animal assisted interventions and the affect they had on depression and anxiety in people. Megan returned to Calgary after university, then spent some time travelling South East Asia before joining the Canine Fitness Centre.

Megan has always enjoyed anything that involves helping, spending time with or learning about animals. She’s worked at the Medicine Hat SPCA, worked alongside a breeder to whelp and wean a little of Portuguese water dog puppies and has volunteered at various rescue organizations and veterinary clinics. When Megan is not spending time with animals she enjoys being active through yoga, running and triathlon training. And now she’s excited to continue building her knowledge base here at the Canine Fitness Centre!
