Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy

To create a magnetic field, a current must flow through a conductor (i.e. wire). When current flows through a wire a magnetic field is induced at right angles to the wire. When multiple wires are placed together in a parallel fashion, the magnetic fields from all of the wires are added together to intensify the overall magnetic field. It is believed that the benefits of magnetic field are due to its influence on oxygen utilization by the tissues and therefore promotion of healing and/or turnover of cells.

Examples of Indications for Magnetic Field Therapy:

  • Inflammation
  • Muscle Spasm
  • Poor Circulation
  • Infection
  • Arthritis
  • Healing of Trauma
  • Healing after Surgery
  • Wound Healing
  • Cartilage Healing
  • Multiple Sclerosis
